Constant research into ceramic materials and styles have led Casalgrande Padana to introduce their new collection at the Cersaie fair this year in Bologna. So, after having checked out their spectacular stand, we took a closer look at four can’t-miss products: Era, Fusion, Stile and Timeless.
Obviously, the four collections all contain porcelain stoneware, a material with well-known properties: natural, eco-sustainable, long-lasting, solid, waterproof, hypoallergenic, and fireproof. Plus, thanks to the special Bios Antibacterial® technology (available on request), it can even become antibacterial. The other common denominator of Casalgrande Padana’s new releases is their color palette: bold yet discrete and extremely versatile shades which are ideal for a classy interior backdrop in an urban and contemporary or classic style.

Era
We begin with Era, a collection which takes its cue from natural stone and imitates its irregular veining and nuvolato effects for a surface dynamic. A permanent interplay of light and shadow takes place on all of the six colors available: Bianco, Bruno, Crema, Grigio, Perla and Pepe. Era’s porcelain stoneware restores the tactile effect of the natural material, which has been accentuated in the non-slip versions Casalgrande’s designers made to create a harmonious and seamless continuity between the interiors and exteriors. The formats range from 30×60 cm to 120×120 cm. It is the perfect collection for those looking to create a chic urban look.
Fusion
With a sophisticated look and technologies, Fusion uses porcelain stoneware to reproduce the oxidations, shades, reflections and scratches which are typical of metals. This collection’s distinguishing feature is the particular shine which emanates from the surfaces and illuminates the darker tones with an iridescent effect. It comes in six colors: Black, Copper, Graphite, Green, Grey, and White, and four sizes, including an extra-large 120×278 cm tile for all kinds of projects. Fusion is fit for residential and public spaces and is a great option for creating a modern look without giving up on a striking metallic effect. Plus, the oxidations are also perfect for covering made-to-measure furniture and furnishings.
Stile
Natural stone also inspired the Stile collection which comes in six colors (from earth tones to grays and beiges, and an intense black). Among this year’s choices, Stile might be the one with most formats and finishes, allowing one for the most in compositional and design freedom. There are eight formats, two thicknesses, a series of mosaics, and custom laying. Plus, the Natural surface finish (opaque or smooth) is ideal for a compact effect, while the others create dynamic patterns and chiaroscuros thanks to various three-dimensional processes: diagonal, ribbed, bush-hammered, embossed, antiqued, silk or grip. Elegant and extremely versatile, Stile goes with everything!
Timeless
The Timeless tiles, which are as timeless as the technical porcelain stoneware which has written Casalgrande Padana’s history, have been made to reinterpret the shades of concrete. What are the stylistic features of the collection? Neutral tones, interplays of light, and nuvolato and brushed effects on tactilely even surfaces. What about the collection’s technical characteristics? It is full-body colored and has consistent color and body structure. This means that if the surface layer gets worn out or chipped, the color and texture remain the same. That’s why Timeless is the perfect solution in spaces where temperature changes, high foot traffic and other stresses require a more durable and resistant tile: commercial and industrial spaces, airports, stations, hospitals, etc.
