Porcelain stoneware: Confetto, the new collection from Marazzi

Marazzi continues with its research into the beauty of authentic porcelain-stoneware ceramic with a new and delicate series: Confetto. The new series is part of a collection called Crogiolo which is made up of high-quality and refined tiles and gets enhanced year by year with brand-new chapters.

The various lines, which come from Marazzi’s combination of master craftsmanship and technological research, evoke traditional handmade tiles and come in small sizes, warm materials and tactile surfaces for walls, floors, and furniture.

A porcelain-stoneware collection with a soft look and antique feel

Confetto is tactile ecstasy. A porcelain-stoneware ceramic product, it amazes for the softness of its semi-matte “sugared” surfaces covering a small tile with vibrant and warm colors.

As with the other variants from the Crogiolo collection, Confetto also exudes that exquisitely artisanal feeling from years past and becomes a unique and imperfect product with a special allure.

More specifically, Confetto is available in two smooth formats with straight borders for seamless laying and two small sizes: 5×15 cm and 10×10 cm.

There is also a 3D Savoiardo texture (5x15cm) which includes a light breakthrough in the middle that emphasizes its three-dimensionality. The tile is a reinterpretation of the celebrated Canne Orango series designed by Nino Caruso for Marazzi in the early 1970s.

Its vast color palette is made up of 12 colors which are available in all of the series formats.

Crogiolo, Marazzi’s antique soul amongst tradition and innovation

Crogiolo is a collection which puts people and their senses front and center. It goes back to basics and simultaneously looks towards a sustainable future. The name Crogiolo holds particular significance in Marazzi’s history. It refers to the industrial building where the company was founded in the 1930s and which then provided a research and experimentation laboratory for tiles.

In this space, architects, designers, artists, and photographers had the chance to freely explore the world of ceramic and gave life to an era of pure research.

The Crogiolo collections feature glossy glazes, old-fashioned motifs, and vibrant textures for a handmade effect. It is the result of sophisticated technology which combines artisanal knowhow and innovation.

The collection includes various stylistic inputs with a strong sense of narrative. From the “crogiolo” (melting pot”) the materials come to life and become imperfectly beautiful, artisanal tiles: hand-made majolica tiles, Moroccan glazed terracotta tiles, Modernist geometric patterns, and the poetry of porcelain stoneware cement tiles…
