Reclining headboard on an ergonomic bed

The Hab bed, produced in a collaboration between Marc Sadler and Désirée, features a reclining headboard and extremely comfortable padding.

From reclining backrests to headboards

The Hab bed is the second arrival in the collection after the sofa released in 2020. Much more than a sofa, Hab is a system of modular seating which perfectly adjusts to every user thanks to its freely reclining backrests and armrests. So, even the first project used the flexibility and adaptability of the seating to provide total relaxation.

This is the most intimate sofa I’ve ever designed; it was authentically conceived ad personam, even while seated, with easily adapted backrest and armrests, to achieve perfect ergonomics”. M. Sadler

This concept returns in the Hab bed thanks to the reclining double headboard which becomes a convenient backrest for reading or even watching a film. The movement is provided by precise and exclusive internal mechanisms which allow one to independently lock the two headboards in different positions. It’s no problem if the two people in bed have different preferences, as each gets their own reclining position.

A luxury bed

The Hab bed is a well-balanced synthesis of design, aesthetics, and comfort. If the star of the project is the reclining headboard, the other strengths of this imposing and luxurious bed lie in its elegant lines, solid wood and metal structure, ample polyurethane padding, and its removable leather or fabric cover.

Marc Sadler

This is not the first time Marc Sadler has designed furniture for Désirée. In fact, his touch was key to establishing the company’s trademark elegant yet clever style, which can be especially seen on its sofas. This was the case with the legendary Lovely Day sofa which had self-bearing and adjustable backs (check out our article) and the japandi-inspired Haneda compositions.
