Project Wood, the latest collection from Casalgrande Padana, brings the warmth and beauty of beechwood to fascinating wood-effect porcelain stoneware.
One of the most widespread plants in Europe, beech is known as a tree which lives for hundreds of years and features lush foliage and a strong and resistant trunk. It’s no coincidence that Calagrande Padana chose it to create refined and cozy atmospheres in the home.
The collaboration with SBGA studio
The new series of tiles is the result of a prestigious collaboration with SBGA Blengini Ghiradelli, an architectural studio which has always been conscious of the themes of sustainability and inclusivity. In addition to being a tile which faithfully reproduces the patterns and everchanging textural nuances of the wood, Project Wood is eco-sustainable and completely recyclable.
Wood-effect porcelain stoneware in five colors
The color range for the Project Wood series is made up of warm and bright tones which instantly give off a feeling of wellness and naturalness. Their names have been provided by five Italian towns and parks which recall the natural beauty of the Bel Paese.

On the surfaces of the planks, the wood-effect porcelain stoneware creates intense tactile and visual sensations: grain, veining, and natural defects are reproduced with “surgical” precision and create a textural look which captures your gaze and warms up the domestic space.
Project Wood’s sizes and technologies
Project Wood is an extremely versatile and resistant tile which has been designed to be long-lasting and perform in any private or public space. The planks come in two sizes: 20×120 cm (9 mm thick) e 40×120 cm (20 mm thick), with the latter designed for the exteriors as well.
Thanks to these two sizes it is possible to floor the entire home and offer a single, matching solution in outdoor spaces as well—terraces, balconies, and gardens.

In contrast with traditional wood flooring, Project Wood can rely on state-of-the-art porcelain stoneware as a result of Casalgrande Padana’s non-stop technological research. Refined design goes hand in hand with incredible technical capabilities like superior resistance to impacts, abrasion, fire, and stains, making Project Wood perfect for both interior and exterior floors and walls at home or in public spaces.
Last but not least, Bios Antibacterial®, which is capable of eliminating up to 99% of bacteria on ceramic surfaces, can also be applied to the Project Wood tiles.
