Those of us who made it to the latest edition of the Milano Design Week were able to admire in person the new Atlantis extendable table showcased at the company’s store in Velasca Square in Milan. This table is a tiny piece of architecture with monolithic, trestle legs and a top which seems to hover above the structure.
It is a table which would have pleased a master of Modernism like Mies van der Rohe for its minimalism, the technological refinement of its extension mechanism, and discrete beauty.
How the Atlantis extendable table is made

- An innovative opening mechanism and an embellished extension
Let’s start with the extension technology: there is an easy and intuitive telescopic opening mechanism made in aluminum. The foldable extension is located inside the top and is “embellished” to guarantee formal continuity, as it comes from the same slab as the top.
