Iconic lamps revisited and a new version

Five historic Oluce collections star in this revamp:

  • Calamaio
  • Coupé
  • Spider
  • Colombo
  • Canopy

In addition to the new finishes, Oluce has expanded its family of lamps with a new wall version, offering greater versatility and customization for the home’s spaces.

Innovation and history: a successful combination

With this restyling, Oluce is not only paying homage to its own history, but also looking towards the future of interior design. The new finishes have been designed to fit into modern settings, adding a touch of freshness to models which have already made lighting history.

Calamaio wall lamp

The Calamaio collection introduced in 2023 now comes in a new wall version. Originally designed as a tamp lamp, it was developed at a workshop within the Master’s in Lighting Design at the Università Sapienza di Roma by three talented young designers.

Calamaio’s minimalist design was created to offer precise and functional lighting which is ideal for illuminating worktops. The metal structure is made up of two circular elements which combine at the base, guaranteeing total freedom of movement.

The lamp uses LED technology to guarantee efficient lighting, while its one-of-a-kind look features lacquered finishes in bold colors like scarlet red, yellow mustard, and satin black nickel.

Coupé lamp collection

Scarlet red has been added to the Coupé family’s table and floor version. Coupé is a collection designed by the renowned designer Joe Colombo, the creator of many iconic lamps and furnishings which have made Italian and international design history.

Coupé is a brilliant lamp, as the head can be rotated and allows you to direct the light beam in various directions. Moreover, it can also be moved up or down along the structure. A recipient of multiple awards, it is included in MoMA New York’s permanent collection.

Spider lamp collection

The Spider collection by Joe Colombo introduced in 1965 gets a new, warm yellow mustard look, leaving white behind. An icon of contemporary lighting, Spider represents the creative spirit of the Italian 1960’s economic boom.

The design, influenced by the world of architecture and its industrial style, surpasses traditional models and introduces an innovative aesthetic language. With its unabashed modernity, Spider continues to be a symbol of originality and the avant-garde with its contemporary look.

Colombo lamp collection

Once again from Joe Colombo, the collection which bears its author’s name gets a new bright scarlet red look. Designed in 1970 in response to the spread of the halogen light bulb, this lamp was one of the first to make use of it in a domestic setting.

With its solid base, chrome-plated stem, and adjustable reflector, Colombo’s minimalist design embodies his vision of clean lines and technological functionality, making it an example of innovation and simplicity in the lighting world.

Canopy suspension lamp

Lastly, the Canopy collection gets completely made over with the introduction of black and scarlet red, saying goodbye to white and bronze. In this ceiling lamp, the designer Francesco Rota highlights the oft-neglected ceiling rose, making it the star of the show with a large metal lampshade.

Meanwhile, the light is diffused via a circline bulb, which creates soft and enveloping lighting.
