The bedroom’s enveloping rigor

COVER: Ragno, Stratford collection

Full-height glass panels open up onto the bedroom where the natural tones and minimalist rigor of the furniture create a relaxing, almost dreamlike atmosphere. In place of the window, a porthole window provides a poetic touch to the view onto the garden, while two small bedside lamps on the wall illuminate the bed with suffused light. Part nook and part shelter, it needs very little to put us to sleep with ease: some books placed on the shelf built into the wall and a bed which is made even more comfortable with its cascade of pillows. Finishing off the understated yet refined mood, there is a single piece of design: the container from the 1960s designed by Castelli Ferrari which gets turned into a practical nightstand on this occasion.

These concrete-effect porcelain stoneware walls and floors go for a slightly rough, almost velvety texture and provide a delicate and enveloping mood

The iconic nightstand

All it takes is a classic piece of furniture like this one which made design history to give the entire space personality.

The porthole window.

In order to break the almost austere sense of rigor, the window goes for a rounded form and provides a dreamy atmosphere.
