A special edition of the Salone del Mobile 2021 is here

It is just one month until the brand-new edition of the traditional Salone del Mobile, the customary international event dedicated to furniture and design, which for the occasion is coming in a with totally new look: the Supersalone and the Fuorisalone.

After the forced closure of 2020, the event’s dates and organization have changed: from September 5-10 the Fiera Milano in Rho will host the Supersalone, an appointment anticipating the 60th edition of the Salone del Mobile, which is set for April 2022. This special edition comes in a different format than the usual one with an ad hoc digital platform with editorial content and business and e-commerce tools where you can purchase the exhibited products. Completely different compared to the past, the Supersalone will, amongst other things, be open to the public every day and everyone will be able to make purchases. In place of the classic stands, the Fiera will offer a collective setup where, in addition to new releases, there will also be meetings and special design shows.

It is a more toned-down version of the Fiera, which would like to demonstarte the city’s will and desire to look ahead and act as a link to next year’s 60th edition of Salone del Mobile. And while we visit an exhibition-museum with projects produced over the last 18 months, the city will be enlivened by the Fuorisalone program, which will involve showrooms and exhibition spaces of the biggest brands in design.

As with every other year, there will be various districts involved: from the “historic” Brera Design District to the Cinque Vie, the new Alpha District, Portello, Alcova, Inganni, and LOM (Locanda Officina Monumentale) which is nearby the new Design Museum. All of them will offer, in addition to tge latest releases, exhibitions and special installations.

Now you just need to add the dates to your agenda and get ready for this new event. It is different from what we are used to, but is sure to be interesting and, as always, not-to-missed.
