An underwater restaurant seems like a dream, but it is in fact a reality which has been designed by Lago, the all-Italian designer furniture brand. They have continued their partnership with Azemar, the international tour operator, to bring made-in-Italy design to the crystalline waters of the Maldives, taking another step into the luxury hospitality industry.
After the project with the famous Cocoon Maldives designer resort, it is now the turn of the underwater restaurant H20: a simply spectacular location inside the You&Me resort by Cocoon on the Raa atoll.
With glass walls and a glass ceiling, Lago’s designer furniture and 360-degree view of coral reefs, you are literally immersed in the sea and enwrapped in a dreamlike atmosphere. The Air tables, suspended on imperceptible glass legs and covered by hand-painted ceramic tiles, seem to float in the water, while the graphite leather Dangla chairs highlight the tones of the sea.
Among its minimalist aesthetics, Italian design lives in symbiosis with the Maldivian nature, in a fairy tale world that will take your breath away. There are fish, the colors of the sea, coral reef, and the feeling of being in a dream. This is all without even considering the menu created by the Michelin-star chef Andrea Berton. His cuisine accompanies the guest on a gastronomic experience that reinterprets the Maldivian mood with typical Italian flavors, including new creations and his signature dishes, fish soup and coconut water. Alongside the meal, there is also music which has been specifically chosen to highlight the various dishes, in a tasting experience designed by the chef.
This magical and exclusive place with just 20 seats is the perfect restaurant for celebrating a dinner with your partner (children are not allowed), surrounded by an atmosphere that will reawaken all your senses: from the boat ride (twenty minutes to reach the restaurant) to the striking “immersion” six feet under water, the constant dance entertainment and the multicolored tropical fish.
