Marble sinks and washbasins are capable of giving the bathroom a strong personality. Those who love classic style know perfectly well that, when it comes to the bathroom, marble is the ultimate in elegance both for the walls or basin. With the new DecorArt line, Scarabeo Ceramiche brings the most traditional of materials to life in a modern key, providing a can’t-miss mood for those who are looking for the right idea for a contemporary bathroom with a touch of style.
What is DecorArt?
Scarabeo Ceramiche is the Lazio company which has produced designer-bathroom ceramic since the Seventies. A pioneer in washbasins and trendsetter, Scarabeo Ceramiche has won over everyone the past few years with its new approach to ceramic decoration via digital technologies. In fact, going back to the DecorLab mood, it had already launched a series of graphic patterns which could be applied to the ceramics of some pre-existing collections. This year it is using the same technique to create, as if by magic, marble washbasins. How is it possible? DecorLab and Décor Art use a special process which involves the application of a decal together with a chemical treatment in which the surface material gets blended with the ceramic glaze in a second firing. The marble finish becomes one with the washbasin and water- and stress-resistant just like the traditional ceramic glaze. It is beautiful and unchangeable!
Marble in a modern key
With this technique the marble effect can be applied to ceramic washbasins, combining the style of the one with the versatility of the other. While the traditional marble sink is carved from a block and, thus, inevitably has a bulky look and thick edges, the DecorArt washbasins surprise for their light lights, fine edges, and modern forms combined to refined classic veining.
Black marble, white marble and travertine are the three finishes proposed by Scarabeo Ceramiche and are truly difficult to visually tell apart from the original stones. These three innovative and technological decorations are capable of giving the ceramic and the entire bathroom superior aesthetic value.
The DecorArt marble finishes are applicable to some collections we already know and love: Teorema 2.0, an extremely versatile series which stands out for its clean design and rigorous lines; Glam, the family of washbasins with rounded and elegant lines and extremely thin edges; Moon, the collection of washbasins with a wide and ample basin with borders that only get thinner towards the ends; and Diva, the minimalist and elegant line of bathroom furniture made to host the Moon washbasins. The Diva consoles are the cherry on the cake of DecorArt: the tubular metal structure is light, thin, yet stable, and the contrast with the “marble washbasins” is surprising and fascinating. The structures are available in various versions in matte black, gray, dove gray, or brushed gold, and can be freely combined with the three decorations in black marble, white marble, and travertine. Finally, even the consoles can include shelves decorated in the marble finishes for an incredibly refined total-look.
