This year’s Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt not only sets itself apart as a showcase for large brands, but is also a launchpad for young talents. As in the last edition, the Talents area located in Hall 3.1 will once again host 28 emerging designers who come from 11 different countries, including Finland, Japan, Poland, and the USA.
This space is more than a simple exhibition: it represents a one-of-a-kind of opportunity for creative professionals and guests to encounter innovative ideas and futuristic concepts. With projects that explore materials, techniques, and unconventional approaches, the designers involved will bring their fresh and sustainable vision to the trade fair.
Creativity and sustainability front and center
The main theme of the Talents 2025 program is “Think local, act sustainable”, an approach that reflects the challenges and responsibilities of contemporary design. In a demonstration of how waste materials can become prized resources, a notable example is that of Laura van de Wijdeven from the Netherlands, who uses egg shells to create compostable decorative objects.
Another notable project is that of Zi-Yu Elain Chou from Taiwan, who integrates design and sustainability with her SADOU tea table, using leftover water to help the growth of hydroponic plants. These are just a couple examples of the creativity and the environmental awareness which set the young talents apart at this year’s edition.
A unique opportunity for the future of design
In addition to providing an exhibition space free-of-charge, the Talents program supports the designers in the promotion of their projects, putting them into contact with the sector’s professionals and international buyers. The initiative is designed to empower a new generation of creative professionals, providing them with visibility and the chance to establish themselves on the global scene.
