Nuovastep by Magis, a limited-edition everyday object

First there was Step, the iconic folding stepladder designed in 1984 by the design couple Andries & Iroko Van Onck which immediately became the forerunner for a series of objects called “forgotten designs”, i.e., those everyday objects which are often mistreated (from the broom to the step ladder). Then it was Nuovastep’s turn. Made in 2003, it was an evolution of the previous model and created to obtain the TuV certification for security and reliability (which was not required in the eighties).

Now, after 45 years of projects dedicated to design, Magis has decided to celebrate its achievement (and its successes) with a new, innovative and limited edition: Nuovastep, the neon orange step ladder.

With a painted steel tube and white ABS steps, the folding step ladder that made design history will only be available in 45 pieces, which will be identifiable thanks to the metal stainless steel plate. It is a small accessory whose simplicity is able to, once again, put itself on display and show off its character and longevity.
