Inspired by Modernism and lakeside landscapes, Unopiù launches Salò, a new collection of outdoor furniture designed by Matteo Thun and Benedetto Fasciana that celebrates the balance between beauty and functionality.
Created to turn terraces, gardens, and contract settings into spaces where design merges with nature, this line made its debut at the 2025 Salone del Mobile, where it stood out for its understated elegance and craftsmanlike attention to detail.
Its name is meant to evoke the timeless atmospheres of Lake Garda and the light and calm reflected in its water. The collection’s aesthetic language derives from this landscape, but also draws inspiration from the Modernist movement and Bauhaus. Unopiù takes these sophisticated inspirations and turns them into light lines, curvy forms, and surfaces as smooth as the lake’s water at night.
The essence of soft Modernism
Visual and structural lightness are what define the entire collection. The dining chairs and tables are made in ultra-lightweight aluminum and come in four natural tonalities—terracotta, sage green, graphite, and sand—which recall the colors of the land and sea.
The soft yet precise shapes of this outdoor furniture have been designed to invite our gaze without being overbearing, featuring curved armrests and free-flowing profiles which provide rhythm and harmony to the whole.
Even the cushions deserve special attention: not mere accessories, they act as structural and decorative elements as well. The backrest of the armchairs and sofas feature an overhanging cushion designed to provide ample comfort which can be enjoyed from every angle—even from behind.
