Mini Spider and Agnoli Table: Oluce reissues two icons of Italian design

Among Oluce’s most interesting 2025 releases are two reimagined design icons: the Mini Spider and the Agnoli Table Lamp. These two Italian classics now make an even stronger impression thanks to the meticulous attention to detail and formal harmony that has always defined the Milanese brand.

Oluce at Euroluce 2025: evolving light

On the occasion of Euroluce at the latest Salone del Mobile di Milano, Oluce unveiled a collection that both pays tribute to its heritage and looks toward the future.

At the event, the “Light Up” installation designed by Ferruccio Laviani created a visual bridge between past and present, highlighting the brand’s expert craftsmanship through iconic pieces reimagined with new proportions, materials, and finishes.

Mini Spider: the “hammer-head” lamp goes compact

With the Mini Spider, Oluce revisits one of Joe Colombo’s boldest designs: the iconic Spider lamp—winner of the 1967 Compasso d’Oro. The original collection included the Spider 291 table lamp and the Spider 3319 floor lamp, both celebrated for the “hammer-head” shape of their lighting body and their pared-down structure.

Faithful to the original design yet updated in proportions, the new version is crafted for smaller, more contemporary rooms. It features a lacquered metal base, a chromium-plated stem, and an adjustable diffuser that preserves the original lines, and comes in three colors: glossy black, scarlet red, and vibrant blue.

A new light source, same iconic identity

To preserve the character of the lamp while meeting today’s technical standards, Oluce has developed an alternative to the original Cornalux bulb historically used in the Spider. The new version features a Pyrex glass cover with a B22 input adapter and G9 output socket, allowing the light source to be replaced without altering the lamp’s distinctive hammerhead shape.

Agnoli: new finishes and formats for a timeless classic

The second major piece of news is the reissue of the Agnoli lamp in a table version—a 1954 design that marked an important milestone in the history of Italian lighting. Created by Tito Agnoli and already part of the Oluce collection as the 387 floor lamp, this piece embodies the designer’s philosophy through a simple, intuitive structure where each detail works in service of the light.

The new Agnoli Table preserves the strict proportions of the original design, featuring a matte black base and a structure that comes in two finishes: a satin nickel, true to the historic model, and black satin nickel, created for more contemporary interiors. The lighting body is mounted on a sliding mechanism that allows precise adjustment of the light, harmoniously combining aesthetics and functionality.

Oluce projects its icons into the future

In both of these releases, Oluce once again demonstrates its ability to pay tribute to its heritage without petrifying it; rather, it opens it up to new interpretations. This operation not only reflects on the past, but also redefines what the word “icon” means, restoring its freshness, utility, and everyday beauty.
