The latest frontier in stone-effect flooring is Lithos from Casalgrande Padana: a porcelain stoneware collection that provides a contemporary take on the age-old elegance of Portland Stone.

This project takes the authentic appeal of the natural material and combines it with state-of-the-art ceramic technology, offering porcelain stoneware flooring that is bringing balance and refinement to any room.
Designed for high-end residential structures, Lithos speaks to those for whom the home is not merely a place, but an experience of quality and style.
A historic stone at the heart of the project
Our story begins on the southern coast of England, in Dorset, where Portland Stone has been mined for centuries. This compact and shiny limestone was chosen for the construction of symbolic buildings such as Westminster Palace, Buckingham Palace, and even the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Its subtle texture and ivory color have made it one of the most cherished stones in Western architecture.
Lithos does not merely replicate its look: it captures its essence and translates it into a ceramic language that speaks of purity, memory, and stylistic continuity. The goal is not to imitate but evoke, capturing all of this noble material’s expressive power through the qualities of porcelain stoneware.
Colors, sizes and details that make the difference
Lithos is available in six sophisticated colors:
- Bianco
- Beige
- Grigio
- Nero
- Taupe
- Tortora
Here we have an elegant and tempered palette that works well with natural materials, fine textiles, and bespoke furniture. The sizes range from the classic 30×60-cm tiles to the imposing 120×178-cm slabs (6-mm thickness), as well as 60×120, 90×90, and 120×120 cm modules. Plus, the collection wouldn’t be complete without 20 mm thicknesses—ideal for dry installation on gravel, grass, or sand.
The availability of decorative elements—such as the new cannetè or the curved mosaico — allow for bespoke solutions and striking pairings that even work well with other Casalgrande Padana collections.

The elegance of Portland Stone anywhere in the home
Lithos has been designed for those seeking technically refined and aesthetically exquisite porcelain stoneware. The cloudy surfaces featuring delicate color variations have been produced to fit into indoors and outdoors, residential and public spaces.
From the living room to the bathroom, from the patio to the hall of a boutique hotel, the collection seamlessly blends into and discretely enhances the space.

The inclusion of the Grip R11 anti-slip finish allows for installation in humid spaces or on outdoor paths, while the larger sizes enhance the sense of visual continuity between the walls and floors.
A sustainable collection: from material to process
As with all of Casalgrande Padana’s collections, Lithos has been produced in an industrial cycle that reduces its environmental impact to nearly zero thanks to the complete recovery of water, waste, and dust.
The porcelain stoneware is made up of natural raw materials, enamel-free, and completely recyclable. By request, it can be treated with the Bios Ceramics® and Bios Self-Cleaning® technologies, which improve their cleanliness and reduce the build-up of pollutants.
