The new Aurena collection by Duravit, designed by the renowned designer and architect Antonio Citterio, is a sublime example of how the golden ratio can be applied to contemporary design.
The golden ratio, a concept in use since ancient times, is a mathematical formula which creates beauty through harmonious proportions. Citterio used this principle as a guide to create a series of bathroom furniture which would stand out for its perfect balance of forms and timeless elegance.
Aurena: a complete collection
Aurena by Duravit features a full range of pieces for the bathroom, including fixtures, furniture, and bathtubs. The vanity area is the highlight of the collection with its design based on the perfect proportions of the golden ratio.
The washbasin consoles, made entirely in ceramic, come with dividers whose borders are based on the golden ratio. This system allows one to keep things neat and clean and creates a functional and pleasant space.
On top of the console, one can add an integrated washbasin or a washbowl which is available in ceramic or glass. Lastly, an aluminum frame with a brushed stainless-steel finish secures the console to the vanity base units and creates a towel rail.

Aurena offers versatile solutions for any need
Aurena’s structure offers various options of vanity base units in both open and closed setups. The open version with a built-in wire shelf offers ample space and the version with a double washbasin includes a central unit with two drawers. Meanwhile, the closed option features a vanity base unit with two drawers which can be mounted to the wall or a metallic frame with slender legs.
High-quality materials and finishes in perfect harmony
The Aurena collection also stands out for its choice of materials and finishes and their harmonious combination. The ceramic, available in white or black, elegantly matches with the brushed steel.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the furniture, available in matte White, Taupe and Graphite Gray finishes, can be combined with fronts with the same matte finish, a glossy version or special variants.
Moreover, the solid-wood surfaces create a warm and cozy atmosphere, while the marble-effect white ceramic tiles and the glossy-black glass provide a touch of classical elegance.
