From 21 to 26 April 2026, Fiera Milano Rho will host the 64th edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano, which promises to be the most strategic edition in recent years. The official preview took place at the Teatro della Triennale in Milan, a symbolic venue that welcomed institutions, designers and the international press to unveil the event’s figures and vision.
With over 1,900 exhibitors from 32 countries, an exhibition area of 169,000 square metres already sold out and an increasingly varied programme, the Salone confirms its international and cultural vocation.

New platforms enriching the offering
Alongside the return of the Biennials — EuroCucina with FTK – Technology For the Kitchen and the International Bathroom Exhibition — the 2026 edition debuts with two new visionary platforms: Salone Raritas, dedicated to collectible design, and Salone Contract, a veritable fair within the fair designed for hospitality, real estate and high-end retail.
The conceptual heart of the event will be “A Matter of Salone”, a profound reflection on the meaning of design today, between matter, memory and the future.
A Matter of Salone: design as living matter
“A Matter of Salone” is not just the communication campaign for the 2026 edition, but a declaration of intent. The guiding theme for the year invites us to rethink design starting from matter, understood as origin, meaning and possibility.
Created by the Motel409 collective together with six talented photographers and set designers, the visual narrative explores textures, gestures, surfaces and symbols to translate the complexity of design into an accessible and emotional language.
The message is clear: the Salone does not merely exhibit products, but showcases a shared design philosophy rooted in material culture and open to new forms of meaning, beauty and responsibility.
Biennali 2026: kitchens and bathrooms towards sensory evolution
EuroCucina returns with FTK – Technology for the Kitchen, which will host 106 brands from 17 countries and focus on the transformation of the kitchen into a fluid, interactive and sustainable environment. Invisible induction hobs, antibacterial materials, intelligent systems and integrated AI redefine the domestic space as a place for relationships and well-being.

The International Bathroom Exhibition, with 163 exhibitors from 14 countries, embraces a new idea of the ‘home spa’: spectacular walk-in showers, tactile surfaces, solutions for longevity and the integration of smart devices give shape to a bathroom that cares for the body, mind and environment.
Salone Contract: the project as an integrated system
With a master plan designed by OMA – Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten, Salone Contract is a preview of a project that will officially debut in 2027.

In 2026, a curatorial programme will take shape, involving top international players and a selection of exhibitors, with meetings, forums and an unprecedented vision of contract design as an integrated ecosystem: no longer just a product, but the design of complex experiences. Between high-end hospitality, experiential retail and nautical design, the Salone is preparing to become the new European hub for contract design.
Salone Raritas: when design becomes a collection
Conceived as an architectural lantern by the Formafantasma studio, Salone Raritas will be a brand new space dedicated to unique pieces, limited editions, signature designs and high-end creative manufacturing.
Curated by Annalisa Rosso, this atlas of collectible design will host 25 international galleries and brands in dialogue with interior designers, developers and high-end clients. Here, rarity is not just aesthetic value: it is method, positioning and storytelling. Collectible design officially enters the heart of the Salone.
SaloneSatellite: the future has young hands
Seven hundred designers under 35 from 43 countries, together with 23 international design schools, will be the protagonists of the 27th edition of SaloneSatellite, which this year explores the theme ‘Craftsmanship + Innovation’.

It is not just a matter of rediscovering manual ‘know-how’, but of reinterpreting it as a design and political language. Young creatives bring local traditions and advanced technologies into dialogue to give life to sustainable, poetic and profound objects. The Satellite Award will continue to highlight the most visionary talents, offering a concrete glimpse of how design will evolve in the coming years.
Salone in the city: Milan as a map of design
In 2026, the Salone del Mobile will once again leave the exhibition centre to take over the city. From the gala evening at La Scala to the new installation in Piazza del Duomo created in collaboration with K-Way, Milan will become an urban platform for creativity.

Over 200 showrooms open to the public, themed itineraries, artist-designed newsstands and capsule collections celebrate the relationship between design, culture and urban mobility. The Salone is increasingly becoming a metropolis, a widespread experience, a story of contemporary design in motion.
Designbest Magazine will be present throughout the event with special content, daily reports, exclusive interviews and a curated selection of unmissable new products.
