Inside the Zenucchi Design Code showroom: a dispatch from Fuorisalone

A photo report from inside Zenucchi Design Code during Fuorisalone

We are at via Pisoni 2, in the heart of the Brera Design District.
As soon as you enter this showroom, the sensation is palpable: you instantly notice that nothing has been left to chance. The surfaces, the light, and the layout come together in a delicate balance. You can feel it before you fully understand it.
This is where the Zenucchi Design Code story for Fuorisalone 2026 begins.

A space for design, not display

Inaugurated in April 2025, this showroom is conceived as a space for design rather than display. Not simply a point of sale, it is a kind of contemporary gallery, where materials and solutions naturally play off one another.

Here, the design project can clearly be perceived. It is not explicitly stated, but emerges from the relationship between surfaces, volumes, and light. This approach reflects the way Zenucchi Design Code operates: centering design culture as a tool for shaping authentic spaces, capable of evolving over time together with the people who inhabit them.

A story of materials and light

The space unfolds as a concrete reflection on this year’s Fuorisalone theme, “Be the Project. As you move through it, it becomes clear that none of the elements has been conceived in isolation, but in relation to others.

The presence of Kreoo, LUCE TU, Studioart Leather Interiors, and Tonelli Design emerges naturally, without overlap. The materials alternate, dialogue, and balance one another, creating a cohesive whole that gradually reveals itself as you move through the space, guiding the eye and body.

Natural stone introduces solidity and continuity; leather surfaces add depth and rhythm; light shapes our perception of the spaces, while glass lightens the composition and connects the elements. The result is not a collection of products, but a system in which each material finds its role.

The creative direction of Massimo Castagna

Holding this balance together is the creative vision of Massimo Castagna, art director of Zenucchi Design Code, who oversaw the spatial design. His contribution is evident in his ability to maintain a constant dialogue between the elements, shaping a discreet design language that doesn’t impose itself, but guides and brings coherence to the whole.

Moving through the showroom means coming into contact with this way of working. It’s not only about observing objects or solutions, but about understanding the level of expertise and design culture behind each choice. During Milan Design Week, it’s worth stopping by via Pisoni to experience this approach up close and meet the people who make it possible every day.
